It was interesting but at the same time quite strange because although it was peak holiday season, we only met one couple who were visiting. The rest of the time we only saw an odd game ranger driving around.

We came upon Fort Double Drift which was built by the British during one of their wars in these parts. Only the tower remains sort of intact, but it was interesting to see the remains of the fort laid out in the bush. It must have been quite an isolated posting for the English soldiers.
Candice and her boyfriend, Craig were with us on our excursion.
We had a picnic lunch at a picnic area on the banks of the Great Fish River. It was very pleasant because it was quiet with only a few monkeys wandering around. There were no other people at all.

The only problem was the ferocious ants that attacked you whenever you stopped walking - that is why in this picture you will notice that we are sitting on the table.
